The church is about people, not just meetings.
A fundamental part of our belief is that involvement in our church requires more than simply attending a list of recommended meetings. Being part of a church is to jump into a living, breathing and growing community. We strive to be free of the worldly and unbiblical pressures to draw crowds and evaluate success based on numbers and attendance. We care about integrity, families and the condition of our hearts. The Gospel: The Gospel has transformed our lives. We used to be enemies of Christ, and now we are children of God. Part of the enjoyment of a right relationship with God is the fellowship we are able to have with other believers. We seek to live in the good of the gospel by walking it out in stride with other Christians. We do this by getting to know each other through developing lasting friendships, showing hospitality, participating in various outreach opportunities to the community and meeting with each other regularly on Sunday and Wednesday.
Accountability: We want to grow spiritually. God helps us grow spiritually by giving us other believers in a similiar walk with God to help us be accountable to grow. The input of another loving believer can be an incredible means of God's grace to change. This aspect of our church life, in many cases, cannot happen at a large meeting. This is why we are about more than just attending meetings.Fruitfulness and Change: God wants us to be fruitful and to make progress. We are to experience change and to help others change. The sum of the whole is greater than the individual parts, and it's our goal as a community to both affect change in each others' hearts, but also to help affect change for the entire Bradenton/Sarasota area. Living out the Great Commission starts by investing our lives into a church committed to that mission.
Life in the Spirit: We embrace all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and believe that they are available for all believers. Many of these gifts (such as mercy, helps or encouragement) should not be limited to a public meeting. They are things we can experience any time we come together. A vital part of our life together is the exercise of the spiritual gifts in the context of everyday life. Like the early church that met "day by day...breaking bread in their homes" (Acts 2:46), it is our goal to fully embrace all aspects of the life God has provided for us together
